Customizing the Status Bar at the Bottom of AutoCAD

With the introduction of AutoCAD 2004 the Status Bar area was redesigned to allow for users to toggle some of the controls on and off. So if you are like me and rarely use Grid and Snap you will find it nice to be able to turn them off. Follow the steps below to control the display of some of the buttons in the Status Bar area.

Step 1 -	Move the mouse cursor to the lower right corner of the application window of AutoCAD. You will find a small black down arrow there. Left click on it to bring up the menu to toggle the buttons on and off for the Status Bar.
Step 2 -	After the button is clicked the menu will be displayed on screen.
Step 3 -	The items that are currently being displayed in the Status Bar area are the ones with a checkmark next to them. Select the item to uncheck and hide the button in the Status Bar or select one that was previously unchecked to reactivate it in the Status Bar.
