Binding an Xref with Insert Bind from the Command Line*Applies to: AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002 and 2004*Since the days of AutoCAD R14 you could Bind a drawing with the
type of insert from the dialog box, and this holds true through the
most recent releases of AutoCAD. If you take a look at the
command line for the Xref command there is no way to use the Insert
type when Binding, see below for command line.

This is why there was a new system variable
(or setvar) added to AutoCAD 2000 and later. This system
variable is called BindType. It controls the behavior of how
AutoCAD performs the Bind function on an Xref.
