Activating the Start Menu from they Keyboard Anytime*Applies to: Windows 98, 2000 and XP*If you don't have a windows key on your keyboard don't worry you don't have to run out and get a new one. You can activate the Start Menu in Windows by pressing the following keyboard combination.

Hold down the CONTROL (or Ctrl) key and press the ESCape key.

Note:
This can be done at anytime from the keyboard, from the Windows desktop or when an application is running. It will also work with a modal dialog box being displayed.
Terminology Modal
- Is a state when either an application or Windows has determined that you must do something before continuing on with another operation. Typically these are message boxes that you
click OK, Cancel or some other button to exist/accept changes of some sort. It could also be an error that occurred that is being brought to your attention.
