Tip and Trick Detail
Zoom from the Left with a lost Option of Zoom
*Applies to: AutoCAD R12, 13, 14, 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004 and 2005*

There is another Zoom option that has gone lost since the days of R13. This Zoom option is called Left, and stands for Zoom from a given point to a specific magnification. To access this command start up the Zoom command and type in the option L for LEFT. This option allows you work from a given point as your lower-left corner out a specific magnification from that point much faster than using Zoom All or Extents because it will usually not cause AutoCAD Regenerate itself.

Command Line (R2000, 2000i , 2002 and 2004):
Command: Zoom
Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or
[All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window] <real time>: L
Lower left corner point: 0,0
Enter magnification or height <15.4102>:  12

Command Line (R14):
Command: Zoom
All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale(X/XP)/Window/<Realtime>: L
Lower left corner point: 0,0
Enter magnification or height <15.4102>:  12

Command Line (R12 and 13):
Command: Zoom
All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Left/Previous/Vmax/Window/<Scale(X/XP)>: L
Lower left corner point: 0,0
Enter magnification or height <15.4102>:  12
