Tip and Trick Detail
Changing the Rate for Temporary Overrides
*Applies to: AutoCAD 2006*

Temporary Overrides is a feature that allows you to toggle On/Off drawing precision tools in AutoCAD by pressing and holding down a key combination like Shift to toggle Orthomode.  There is a way to control the rate/speed in which this feature kicks in.  There might seem like there is a delay on some computers versus others.

This setting is actually the rate in which a key stoke is repeated and is a Windows setting.  To adjust the repeat delay go to the Control Panel and Keyboard.  If you are using Windows XP and you are in Category view you will find the Keyboard settings under the Printers and Other Hardware category.  Double-click on the Keyboard icon and change the Repeat Delay setting based on the desired speed.
