Tip and Trick Detail
Add a comment to an object
*Applies to: AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004 and 2005*

You can append a comment to any graphical object with in your AutoCAD 2000 drawing.  These comments are part of the new pointer interface with URLs that can be added to your drawings and viewed when you move the cursor over the object.  To add a comment to an object select the Hyperlink option from the Insert pull down, and then select the object.  Add your comment to the field called out as: Type the file or Web page.

Once you have added your comment click the Ok button.  Now take and move the crosshairs over the object that you just added the comment to.  You should see your crosshairs change to include an icon with a couple links and a globe on it.  In addition to the new icon addition you will see a tooltip show up with your comment contained on it.

If your crosshairs doesn't change like the image you will need to enable the Hyperlink features of AutoCAD.  To enable the feature launch the Options dialog box by selecting the Tools pull down and then Options.  Activate the Users Preferences tab and make sure that both options are checked under the Hyperlink section.
