Turn off the Shortcut menus for those R14 users*Applies to: AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004 and 2005*Whoever said all new features is welcomed by all users was
wrong. The new Shortcutmenus in AutoCAD 2000 and up might be good to
new users of AutoCAD, but the people that have been around for a long
time find them distractive and time consuming, (especially if you have
customized your right click feature). Well, Autodesk has always
been good to its users and allow use to undo something that they added
to the software when it changes behavior to the end user. You
cane turn off the Shortcutmenus by setting the system variable
SHORTCUTMENU to a value of 0 (Zero). Below is also a list of the
addition values for the system variable as well as the combinations
that can be used.

Shortcutmenu systems and returns it to the R14 legacy style

Enables Default mode

Enables Edit mode

Enables Command mode even if command options are
not currently available from the command line
