Working with DWF - Page 1

What is DWF you ask?
DWF is the Drawing Web Format that is promoted by Autodesk. This format was developed to display drawings on the internet for customers to view their drawings and also transfer them.

The DWF file provides a faster and more secure file for transferring across the internet. When the DWF file is created it is about 1/8 the size of the original drawing, and that it will keep all stored views. However, there is a down side to this wonderful idea. The DWF format doesn't support or preserve 3D data.

In order to fully benefit from this page you must have the Whip plug-in installed on the computer your at along with the Internet Utilities installed that came with AutoCAD. This example was put together with Release 14.

The Whip plug-in is no longer available for download so you need to install a copy of the Autodesk DWF Viewer. Click here to download free a copy of the Autodesk DWF Viewer.

After, you have the AutoCAD Internet Utilities and Whip installed you can then continue to the next section of this web page. Click here to continue
